Monday notes :
In Undertaking this major project what do you hope to learn? What new skills do you want to acquire and why? What new methods can you explore to build your spatial design skill set? Think about how you can use this brief to build your confidence in pressenting your design ideas to others?
Write down some key aims/ objectives you hope to achieve
Before we begin this exercise get into groups of three and discuss the following questions:
- What is your favorite project/piece of work that you have produced while studying Spatial
design? Why is it your favourite?
The second year project called “Colour Complex” was my favourite one project, the concept and production was both interesting to me. As a designer, initially most of my designs revolves around on simple eye catching colours. However colour complex convinced me to step out of my comfort zone.
- Content: what was the project about?
Examines critical approaches to the use of colour in spatial design representation and fabrication.
- What contexts informed the project and why were they of particular interest to you?
- Process: What design processes did you use to make this work? What motivated you to
explore, analyse, and research?
This project allowed me to be able to explore colourful colours and how colours compliments specific colours for it to be appealing to the eyes using this knowledge I was able to apply this onto my final project
- Methods: What tools did you use to make the project? Why did you use these tools in
particular?
During this project
- Outcomes: What made you particularly proud of this project?
- Making Connections: Reflect on the design work you have produced to date. Can you identify
connections between and across projects? Are there any recurring areas of interest? List down
what these are.
Site visit :
Ferofero had a house at the crater / memorial at 1850’s
Some plants that can survive in dry condition can be found there however not all of them as some other plants can’t stand moist condition
Notes :
I can add something that highlights something
It can be a sculpture proposal
As a designer we normally tend to demolish any old buildings/materials and build/reburbished using new materials. Your prposal can be can awareness of how old materials can still withstand longer and more durable than new materials.
If you’re thinking of an event you have to be mindful of things, such as if you’ll be damaging or if it’s going against your belief.
Your proposal can be :
For a year
For a week
A one off event
Every summer
Every season
Sketches
Mind Map
5 Key Words: Garden History and history, Nature, Adaptation, Changes that has been made,
What aspects of contexts interest me
- Historical
- Cultural/ environmental
- Modern technology
