How to start your proposals
Notes:
The form of your proposal should reflect the concepts you are proposing
Use your research on like minded practices to help you identify who is working in the same neighbourhood as you-consider concepts of others rather than just visual influences
In your writing highlight your observations as both a participant in and observer of your chosen social space and then where appropriate articulate how your ideas have developed from looking at and researching the work of others
Researching the history of a space can assist you in developing some of your proposal (alternative histories-stories of gentrification/adaptive reuse of space/colonial histories)
How might you harness environmental conditions found in your chosen space for your proposlas (i.e. wind direction/sun path/evidence of weathering)
Consider what rules govern how a space might be used -what does it mean to question these rules and why might you do this?

The WG level 4 building is where students come to study, eat or rest while they wait for their next class. It’s a great place for public and private for accustomed students, as there is a lot of natural lighting coming in from the glass ceiling making the whole place bright. The chill area is in a very convenient place where vending machines, café, toilets etc. can be found near the area.
Not all the tables and chairs meet the requirements of privacy like the others, as others are wide open making it awkward, however, if there is comfortability then I wouldn’t mind the awkwardness of being in a public space.
Comfort, awkwardness, and convenience is the main feeling I have observed while I was documenting about the place, however, the most obvious thing I’ve noticed was that a lot of natural lighting is coming in from the glass ceiling of the WG building. As a designer I think I can use this to my advantage for my proposal.
For this project I am interested in bringing a lot of colors into the site. I am going to explore and push boundaries of the pre-existing parameters of my site, with having to sit by yourself, distance between other tables. With my intervention, I am going to change how people engage with others and the space as well as attracting more people into the site.
