On Monday 25th of March we visited the St Paul Gallery Three we spent some time there to thoroughly investigate the site and measure a few sides of the buildings. Images above are the sketches I did during that day of the gallery.
Images above shows my aerial drawing/ measurements of the gallery itself that i have taken during our visit to the gallery. The second image shows my plan of my threshold plan, where I have emphasised the sunlight filtering through the windows. The NE window have a heavy pencil to lightest pencil shade as it shows the brightest light through the window compared to the NW windows is still an interior and that room has a dim lights, which doesn’t filter as much light into the gallery hence why the light pencil shades. On the second drawing it also shows a floor plan of my threshold that i am planning to build. And thirdly the last photo shows my section drawing of the gallery and my threshold. Where it shows some sort of different level of small rooms that you can do in them. Since my project one was about fragility so I decided to add glass for the walls for my threshold idea to symbolise fragility. And since my project 1 A2 image was mainly focused on light and darkness. For this project i wanted to incorporate the material that i used for my first project which was my base hence the wood material to build my threshold idea, although this wood material is light and easily breaks i had no other wood materials that i could use so i had no other choice but to use the same material.
For my threshold model i decided to leave the masonry wall that is placed slightly in the middle of the gallery
